Tax "Laws" that go over the top...

Man Loses $197,000 Home Over $134 Tax Lien (that ballooned into a $4,999 debt for a retired Marine suffering dementia just because the city "sold" his tax lien to an investor who took the house and all his personal belongings inside, i.e., furniture, clothing, Marine Corp medals, pictures of his dead wife, etc., etc. and threw them away, from a home he paid cash for 20 years ago and "owned" already)

And then there's the story coming from Pennsylvania, http://benswann.com/exclusive-man-pays-thousands-in-property-taxes-with-1-bills-in-protest/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=nl  a town where 10,000 home owners lose their homes every year due to very high property taxes, where this man had to pay $7,134 property tax on his already-paid for home.  He says:  Also, there is no sense of property ownership. If someone can simply force you to give them your money and take your property away from you even if you have paid off your house- we’re not really property owners. It’s immoral at best.
