Is the U.S. Constitution Out of Date? Really?

Have you noticed there are more references lately as to whether or not the U.S. Constitution should be followed as the rule of law?

Here's two articles about Kentucky having a bill demanding food freedom from government control:

This next article quotes President Obama saying in an NBC television interview that the reason he has not been able to make his promised changes is because of the Founding Fathers:  "Well, it turns out our Founders designed a system that makes it more difficult to bring about change that (than) I would like sometimes."

Then the same article quotes U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on an Egyptian television interview counseling Egypt to write a constitution but to not follow the U.S. Constitution.  And why not?  Because America  is, "...operating under a rather old constitution. The United States, in comparison to Egypt, is a very new nation; and yet we have the oldest written constitution still in force in the world..."

This "Is the Constitution for Everybody?" article tackles the same premise of asking whether the U.S. Constitution is "dying," citing examples of California's ban on Proposition 8 as being declared recently as "unconstitutional," and the current issue of ObamaCare mandating birth control coverage for and by Catholic employers and employees.  The author states that America's mindset about what's in the U.S. Constitution, and whether to follow it, is what's really dying, and has some interesting comments:

Then we find this article, written by a young LDS author living in Utah, recent graduate of BYU Law School, who says the U.S. Constitution is not out-dated, and is actually for everybody, including "terrorists."  Since writing this article, he's published a book with Amazon.com titled "Latter-day Liberty: A Gospel Approach to Government and Politics," and was interviewed on FOX-Tv last month.  Here's his 2010 article:

What are your thoughts about this topic?  Some really good questions have been raised on TV shows, asking what the U. S. Constitution says about the specific issues they brought up in front of the camera, so we'll cover those next.  Since "the Elders" have been prophesized regarding saving the constitution, maybe it's time to take a look at it and see how it affects our daily life.  Just about done reading Suze Orman's Steps 4, 5, and 6 in achieving financial freedom for another posting this week.  Have noticed a lot of traffic checking out our various postings--feel free to jump in to comment any time.
